Technical Sales Engineer

Prosilica designs and manufactures gigabit-Ethernet digital cameras for machine vision applications, essentially any situation where a computer needs eyes to obtain and manipulate data. Our customers provide us with a challenging range of applications for our technology – from aerial mapping and street-level views of major cities, to manufacturing QC and inspection, to digitizing sporting events for developing games or even improving your golf swing.

We need to add a Technical Sales engineer to our growing team to work with us to further establish Prosilica as the leading supplier of high-performance machine vision cameras.  This wide ranging role needs someone with excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Sales and support for potential and existing customers
• Continued communication and support for existing customers
• Answering customer technical inquiries by e-mail and telephone
• Preparing quotations
• Post-sales follow up and customer satisfaction
• Tradeshow assistance
• Sales follow-up with interested sales prospects

Required Skills and Experience

• Excellent written and oral communication (English)
• Excellent technical problem solving skills
• History of successful technical sales
• Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction
• Demonstrated ability to learn and to communicate technical information
• Enjoys the engaging the customer in the sales process
• Computer software: Excel, Word, Access

 

Desired Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of cameras, lenses, and photographic technology
• Excellent knowledge of computers and computer technology
• Knowledge of Ethernet network technology and terminology
• Some knowledge of computer programming.

 

Education:

• University degree or Technical diploma
• Engineering, electronics, or computer sciences preferred.
