There is very little difference between equivalent models of the CV-Series and the EC-Series.

In most cases, the EC-Series camera should be chosen over the CV-Series. The EC-Series are less expensive, smaller, and lighter weight while having all the performance of the equivalent CV-Series cameras. With the EC-Series you get all the performance at a lower cost, smaller size, and lower weight.

The only real difference between equivalent CV-Series and EC-Series cameras is that the CV-Series have mini-SMB connectors to supply additional trigger/sync connections. The EC-Series also has trigger/sync connections, but these are located on a 4-pin hirose connector only.
