Prosilica's
FA1394B optical adaptor extends firewire transmission to 500 meters
over fiber optic cable! The FA1394B will take any IEEE-1394 input
and transmit it over fiber optic to the host computer. The FA1394B
can be used to connect a standard IEEE-1394a device over 1394b-optical
to a host computer (with a fiber optic interface such as Prosilica's
PC1394B PCI card), or it can be used to connect one of Prosilica's
1394b-optical output cameras (CV1280F, CV640F, etc.) over fiber
optic to the host computer's IEEE-1394 port.
There
are three firewire connections on each unit: IEEE-1394b-optical,
IEEE-1394a and IEEE-1394b-bilingual. Click here

The
FA1394B package includes the adaptor unit and an auxiliary power
supply. Fiber optic cable is available separately.
