Link Aggregation - Dual Port, Double-Speed GigE Interface

GX-Series - Dual Port GigE camera - Link Aggregation (LAG) - Achieves Double speed GigE

GX-Series Achieves 240 MB/s through Link Aggregation

Prosilica's unique GX-Series GigE Vision cameras double the speed of GigE Vision through two-GigE ports that work as one (Link Aggregation Group). Link Aggregation is a method of logically grouping multiple ethernet ports so that they act as a single port. In the case of Prosilica's GX-Series, the host sees the camera as though there is only one GigE cable connected, even though there may be two. When the camera is connected by two cables to the host computer, the host computer only sees it as one connection at twice the normal speed.

Using a single Cat5e cable, instead of two, the GX-Series operates at half its full speed. With two cables connected to the host computer, the camera can achieve the full 240 MB/s provided by the Link Aggregate Group (LAG).
