IEEE-1394
Cable - you will need an interface cable. You can order these
from Prosilica, but they are widely available at your local computer
store.
IEEE-1394
Interface Card - Although some computers have IEEE-1394 (Firewire)
ports built-in, many require an interface card. These are available
as PCI or PCMCIA cards from Prosilica, but they are also widely
available in computer stores. Cards that use the "TI Chipset"
are generally the best choice.
IEEE-1394b
Fiber PCI Card - Prosilica's PC1394B Fiber optic PCI card
provides a direct fiber optic interface between our CV1280F and
CV640F cameras and the host computer. (Customers operating the
camera under National Instruments Labview should use the Prosilica
FA1394B Fiber Adaptor instead of the PC1394B).
IEEE-1394b
Fiber Adaptor - Prosilica's FA1394B Fiber Adaptor receives
1394b-optical fiber and converts it to regular firewire on copper
to connect to the host computer. This receives the fiber optic
cable from the CV1280F/CV640F and outputs the signal on 1394b-bilingual
or 1394a ports that connect directly to the firewire port on the
host computer.
IEEE-1394
Repeater Kit - Prosilica's FB1394B Fiber Bridge Set provides
for cable lengths up to 500 meters in length. Normally, Firewire
(IEEE-1394a) is restricted to 4.5 m cable lengths. Prosilica has
created a kit to extend this reach to over 500 m using a pair
of our FA1394B fiber adaptors as a repeater set. The FB1394B Fiber
Bridge Set includes two FA1394B Adaptors and a 10-meter fiber
optic cable. Other lengths of fiber optic cable must be ordered
separately
Fiber-optic
Cable - for Prosilica's CV1280F and CV640F cameras, you will
need a fiber-optic cable. While these are available from other
sources, they are better bought from Prosilica where we test them
before shipment.
1/4-20
Tripod Mount - Prosilica cameras have a number of mounting
holes on the body, but do not automatically include a standard
tripod mount. A standard mounting plate is available from Prosilica
as a separate item.
Software
- Prosilica cameras are DCAM 1.3 compliant, so there are a number
of third-party software packages that can operate the camera's
basic functions. Prosilica's ProSDK is available for programmers
wanting to interface directly to the camera.
Lenses
- Choosing the correct lens is one of the most significant parts
of creating a high-performance imaging system. Prosilica can supply
certain lenses for our cameras, but you can source lenses from
a number of helpful sources such as Opsci
among others.
