V1.20

The
Proviewer program provided by Prosilica is a tool for users to familiarize
themselves with the camera and its controls. It is also useful for
establishing that your camera(s) is/are working properly.
Proviewer
is not an image processing tool or machine vision application.
The viewer
is being improved and expanded often; be sure to revisit this page
in the future to download the latest version of the Proviewer Software.
Open
Camera

If
a camera is already connected when the viewer program is launched,
then it is not necessary to open it using this icon. However, to
open an additional camera, to switch cameras, or to open a newly
connected camera, click on the Open Camera icon.
Live
Image - Start and Stop

The Live Image - Start/Stop button is used to begin live imaging
of a camera. When there is more than one camera operating in the
viewer program, the controls dialog refers to the camera whose view
is in the active window.
Take
a Snapshot
Pressing the Snapshot icon when a camera is imaging will capture
a static image in a new window. The static image may then be saved
to disk by selecting the snapshot window and using File>Save.
Histogram

The
icon next to the controls icon launches the histogram. The histogram
is a graphical representation of the range of grey pixel values
in the image. The vertical access represents the number of pixels
and the horizontal access represents the 'brightness' of the pixels.
Properly adjusted image controls should show a graph that has non-zero
values across the horizontal range without too much on either end.
See below regarding "Offset".
Information

Clicking on the information icon brings up a window that shows the
camera type, serial number, hardware revision, and firmware version.
This information is very useful when contacting Prosilica for support
inquiries. Also, in ProViewer 1.14 and higher, the information icon
will also report the current framerate.
Camera
Controls

After launching the viewer program you can access the camera controls
dialog box by clicking the icon that looks like slider bars in the
upper left corner of the viewer screen. The controls button will
open a dialog box where you can control camera functions like exposure,
gain, offset, trigger modes, extended dynamic range and other functions.
When there is more than one camera operating in the viewer program,
the controls dialog refers to the camera whose view is in the active
window.
