Changing or Re-installing the camera drivers:

When using Prosilica's cameras, it is important to install the driver BEFORE the camera is ever connected to the computer. You can install the driver by installing the Prosilica 1394 Viewer program. If you have plugged in the camera first or if you have some other driver installation problem, you can fix it by following the instructions below:

(1) Disconnect the camera from the host computer. When disconnecting the camera, it should also be disconnected from any auxiliary power (the camera should be powered off).

(2) Install the Prosilica 1394 Viewer program which will also install the Prosilica camera driver.

(3) Reconnect the camera.

(4) Find the Device Manager under Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager. If a 1394 camera is connected you should be able to find it under "Imaging Devices" , or under "Unknown" in the list of hardware. Click on "Imaging Devices", or "Unknown" and you should see the camera listed as Prosilica Digital Camera.

(5) Right-click the camera and select "update driver".

(6) If you are using Service Pack Two (SP2) of Windows XP you will see a dialog window asking "Can Windows connect to Windows Update...". Choose "No, not this time". [click next]

(7) Choose "install from a list or specific location" [click next].

(8) Select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install" [click next]. A list of drivers should appear including "Prosilica Digital Camera". If the Prosilica driver does not appear, start again at step (1).

(9) If you want to install the Prosilica driver, select "Prosilica Digital Camera" [click next][click Finish]. If you are trying to use the camera with a third party driver, then select that driver from the list instead [click next][click Finish]. The camera should now work properly in the program associated with the driver that you just loaded.

If you still have problems, contact Prosilica.
